Exclusive route

Discovered, named and guided almost exclusively by Aventuras Patagonicas. The GUANACOS VALLEY ROUTE is a beautiful route to climb Aconcagua. Presently access to the lower Guanacos Valley is being evaluated by the Aconcagua Park Authorities. We are offering a new route, the Ameghino Valley / Upper Guanacos Traverse route, as an alternative to the Guanacos Valley route, if access to the lower Guanacos Valley is restricted during the 2007 - 2008 Aconcagua climbing season.

*Porter availability

For Normal Route and Ameghino Valley routes only (not available for Guanacos Valley expeditions).

Aventuras Patagonicas baseball cap and summit certificate

You will get in Mendoza at the beginning of the Expedition a high quality baseball cap with the Aventuras Patagonicas logo on it and each member gets at the end of the expedition a Summit Certificate as well.

Post-Expedition Logistical Support

including flight re-scheduling, reservation changes, travel arrangements, ideas / solutions in the event that the expedition finishes ahead of schedule.

Cost does not include

  • Round trip airfare: Between Mendoza and your origination point.
  • Meals in Mendoza: (All breakfasts and dinners in Penitentes are included).
  • Personal equipment: (We have a limited amount of gear available for rent, such as, sleeping bags, parkas, boots, ice axes, and packs.)
  • Rescue expenses: or extra expenses for early departure from the expedition, such as unscheduled mules, etc.
  • Climbing permit: You will pay for your climbing permit, in Mendoza, accompanied by your guide.. This is a very easy process. Your guide will accompany you to get your climbing permit at the park service office. It is simpler for us for tax purposes and cash handling overseas (US$250 approx for Ameghino, Normal Route and Polish Glacier & US$400 approx for Guanacos)
  • *Porter fee (If used)

Please NOTE: Many of the above offers could not be offered by local guiding companies. If any other U.S. based guiding company offered as much as we offer, the Expedition would be prohibitively expensive! We are able to make these offers available to you as a result of over 23 years of successful guiding experience on Aconcagua!
